🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 package Puff Pastry Sheets
  • 8 oz block Smoked Gouda Cheese
  • 2 cups Pear
  • 1/4 cup Onion
  • 1 tsp teaspoon Thyme
  • 1 tbsp tablespoon Honey
  • 1/2 tsp teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup cups Water
  • 1/4 cup sticks Butter
  • 1 beaten Egg, beaten

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1

Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Step 2: Roll out puff pastry sheets to about 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into 24 squares.

  3. 3

Step 3: In a skillet, sauté the onion and thyme until softened. Add smoked gouda cheese and stir until melted.

  4. 4

Step 4: Arrange a spoonful of the gouda mixture on one half of each pastry square. Top with a pear slice.

  5. 5

Step 5: Brush the edges of the pastry with water and fold the other half over to form a triangle. Press edges to seal.

  6. 6

Step 6: Use a toothpick to create a border on the top of each tartlet. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 15-20 minutes.

  7. 7

Step 7: While the tartlets are baking, prepare the honey glaze by whisking together honey and 1 tablespoon of water.

  8. 8

Step 8: Remove the tartlets from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Drizzle with honey glaze and sprinkle with salt.

  9. 9

Step 9: Serve warm and enjoy!

💡 Pro Tips

To prevent the pastry from shrinking, chill it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before baking. Use a light hand when applying the honey glaze to avoid overpowering the flavors.
